An excessively low drum water level causes vapor to be present at the inlet of the downcomer, reducing the head for circulation; in severe cases, this can disrupt the water circulation and lead to overheating of the water wall tubes； In cases of severe water shortage, it can also lead to serious accidents such as a dry drum in the steam drum and damage to the water wall.
1. Low water level alarm: The local two-color water level gauge, electric contact water level gauge, and balance tank water level gauge all indicate a low water level. 2. If the economizer or water wall tubes burst, the water supply volume becomes abnormally higher than the steam flow rate ； If there is a fault in the feedwater system, the feedwater flow rate becomes abnormally lower than the steam flow rate. 3. The overheating temperature rises sharply. 4. When the severe water shortage level indicator falls below –300 mm, the boiler’s MFT should activate to shut down the boiler.
