There is a company that wants to eliminate the oxygen buffer tanks. What are the potential risks? Please share your opinions. Thank you.
It is highly unreasonable to not have a buffer tank; even with liquid oxygen as a backup, it still takes about 30 seconds to start the pump. Without a buffer tank, if the air separation unit loses pressure, vaporization will occur immediately

Generally, buffer tanks are relatively small; can they maintain stable pressure during the 30 seconds between the shutdown of the air separation unit and the start of backup oxygen supply from liquid oxygen?
