How does a breather valve work? Could you tell me about its internal structure? Thank you. It would be best if there were pictures.

Simply put, it works on the same principle as a safety valve: when the pressure inside the cold box exceeds a certain level, the pressure is released through a breather valve. The breather valves on cold boxes are generally one-way valves. The liquid oxygen flat-bottom storage tank is also equipped with breather valves, one for the inner tank and one for the outer tank; both are two-way valves.
As the name implies, breather valves are divided into exhaust valves and intake valves, and they are also different from safety valves~~
Yes, there is a difference between breather valves and safety valves. But I’ve seen that most cryogenic tanks are equipped with one-way valves; this is probably because clean nitrogen is continuously supplied inside the tank, so there’s little need for air to be drawn in, which is why only breather valves that allow air to escape outward are used! The simplest version is just a cover plate with a rubber gasket.
