What are the causes of leaks in boiler valves?
Boiler valve leaks can be attributed, on the one hand, to quality issues with the valves themselves – such as casting defects like sand holes, pores, and cracks. On the other hand, the media inside the valves, such as high temperatures or corrosive substances, can pose a risk of leakage over time. The gaskets used in the valves are also prone to damage and need to be replaced and inspected regularly. Additionally, the angle and position in which the valves are installed play a role; improper installation due to faulty positioning can lead to leaks, as high-temperature or corrosive fluids can seep through the gaskets. (Our company has encountered this issue, with heat transfer oil leaking through the gaskets.) In such cases, it is necessary to replace the defective components promptly when the system is shut down.
