A question regarding ethylene spheres

Gentlemen, I had never seen the internal structure of an ethylene sphere tank before; today, after taking a casual look, I have some questions. There are two vertical pipes inside the tank that run from top to bottom; they seem to be made of white steel. They are not connected to the tank body at the bottom and are open-ended, with some kind of fixation in place. I’m not sure what purpose these two pipes serve I need a solution, thank you! :handshake
