Stable operation of the combined burner in Shenhua Ningmei Olefins GSP gasifier exceeds 200 days

In May 2016, good news came from Shenhua Ningmei Olefins Company: the new type of dry coal powder gasification combined burner developed by Qiyi Yi Research Institute’s Qi Yao Thermal Energy Company has been operating stably for over 200 days, reaching 213 days in total. Meanwhile, the 120% load test of a single furnace for 6 hours was successfully completed, with no burnout of the burners and they remained in good condition. This operating record sets a new milestone for the longest service life of a burner in a top-mounted gasification furnace. The lifespan issue of gasification burners has always been a key factor limiting the long-term stable operation of coal chemical systems. To address issues such as high-temperature resistance, wear resistance, and corrosion of burners, the Burner Department of Qi Yao Thermal Energy Company, affiliated with the 711 Institute, has recently carried out optimization tests and practical trials on various technical solutions. As a result, the service life of the gasification burners has been increased to over 200 days, providing technical support for the stable operation of the entire gasification plant. This achievement broke the record for the longest stable operating time of a dry coal powder gasifier of similar scale, further establishing Qi Yao Thermal Engineering Company of the 711 Research Institute as a world leader in this field.
