Dear seniors: During the operation of the desulfurization tower on site, it has been observed that when the spray volume remains constant, as the amount of biogas increases, the pressure difference before and after the desulfurization tower first increases and then suddenly decreases. What could be the cause of this issue?
1. Excessive increase in air volume; 2. The packing pressure plates in the desulfurization tower have been blown off; 3. High resistance in the desulfurization tower, resulting in poor liquid flow
But the pressure will drop again later.
From a practical perspective, it is necessary to compare the design capacity of the tower’s components with the actual load applied to it, to determine whether the load has reached over 90% of the capacity. In such cases, if the packing is not clogged, this indicates that the tower is operating at full capacity or there is a problem with the tray system. In these situations, it is important not to increase the load too rapidly, as this could cause the packing to be displaced, resulting in undesirable consequences.
