How to deal with pipeline trachoma?

Pipeline medium: propylene, operating pressure: 2.5 MPa, pipeline material: low-temperature steel. There is a small sand hole in a section of pipeline at the middle of it, not on any weld. It is planned to address this issue during a shutdown. How can this sand hole be fixed without replacing that section of pipeline? I was wondering if anyone here has experience in this area?
This post was last edited by xlxuiin on 2016-7-22 at 10:55. Since it’s about dealing with parking issues, the obvious choice is to weld it in place. It’s a bit difficult to handle it without stopping (online):) Be careful with heat treatment during welding.
Is the welding method reliable? I’m worried that the patch welding will only seal the sand holes on the surface of the pipeline, without fixing the defects in the pipeline walls
Using clamps is only a temporary solution; we want to take care of it while the vehicle is parked
Then cut off and replace the pipe sections 1000 mm before and after the leak.
A ring of plates cut from equal-diameter tubes is added to the outer wall and welded in place around it.
The temporary measure to avoid shutdowns and material returns is a \"clocking strip\" – a steel strip used to press a piece of rubber.
