SY4109-2005 imposes restrictions on the range of ultrasonic testing; it is not applicable to the inspection of welds at bends and straight pipes, as well as at flanges with a certain diameter and straight pipes, or at elbows and straight pipes. However, SY4109-2013 does not impose such restrictions. It is unclear how ultrasonic testing should be carried out in these cases after the standard was updated. After consulting testing companies, it turns out that ultrasonic testing is still not possible in these areas. Please help to clarify this matter! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
