What valves are installed in gas pipelines?

1. Natural gas transported through pipelines contains large amounts of hydrogen sulfide before desulfurization (an extremely toxic and corrosive gas). Even natural gas that has been treated through processes such as desulfurization still contains residual hydrogen sulfide. Therefore, corrosion-resistant and sulfur-resistant materials should be used for the selection of pipeline valves. 2. Generally, urban natural gas pipelines are over hundreds of kilometers long, requiring regular patrols and inspections. Moreover, sometimes these pipelines have to pass through complex areas, and leaks of the gas contained within them can lead to serious fire accidents. Especially for pipelines located near cities, it is particularly important to prevent leaks from the valves. 3. Once the pipeline is put into operation, it must remain in use for several years without any interruption, not even for a moment, and there are no periods for major repairs. If the pipeline valves connected in series along the pipeline fail, the consequences can be disastrous. Therefore, the wear parts of pipeline valves are required to have a long lifespan. 4. Since operators are generally located inside the station or in a control room, it is necessary for the valves to have reliable control performance, and the valves themselves must be equipped with protection and explosion-proof measures. Especially for valves that remain open, it is necessary to ensure accurate shutdown in the event of sudden changes. Therefore, reliable control performance becomes a priority.
