The temperature of the medium-temperature UASB has been on the high side recently (it used to be normal); it is now over 40 degrees, and the gas production volume has decreased significantly. Is there any effective solution? Additionally, if it is difficult to lower the temperature, is it technically feasible to heat it to 53 degrees using steam (which is available), to switch directly to a high-temperature UASB system, and then reduce the temperature back to medium levels during winter?
Sudden temperature changes can inhibit the activity of methanogenic bacteria; the temperature should be kept within a range of 1 to 3 degrees. The key is to avoid sudden temperature fluctuations. As long as the temperature remains stable after such changes, the microorganisms will gradually adapt to the new environment – it just takes time. The increase in temperature must occur slowly; one can operate for a certain period of time for each degree increase, until the desired temperature is reached
