In LUCI low-temperature methanol washing, what is the role of the recycle gas compressor? What are the procedures for normal startup, shutdown, and emergency shutdown? Detailed.
3.2.14 Starting and stopping of the circulating gas compressor 3.2.14.1 Preparations before starting ① Remove debris around the machine; place tools and safety equipment in designated areas. ②Confirm that all the suction and exhaust valves of the compressor have been installed. ③Check that all connection points are in good condition. ④Check that all measuring instruments are in good condition and sensitive, that the root valves are fully open, and arrange for the on-site instrument panel cabinets to be put into use. ⑤Contact the control room to supply various utility media (including instrument air, circulating cooling water, low-pressure nitrogen, and electricity). To put the circulating water into use, first open the vent valve on the main pipe in the plant; after all the air has been released, close the valve. ⑥Fill the fuel tank, check that the oil level as seen through the sight gauge on the fuselage is at a normal level (between 3.5 and 5 marks on the gauge), and ensure that the oil levels at the front and back of the motor are between 1/2 and 2/3 of the range indicated by the sight glass. ⑦Confirm that the drain of the liquid collection tank and the high-point drain of the receiving tank are open, while all drains for the separator, buffer tank, receiving tank, and liquid collection tank are closed. ⑧Check that all process valves in the light oil station are fully open, except for the oil cooler bypass valve (including the overflow valve). ⑨Confirm that the load control valve handle is turned to the 0% load position. ⑩Confirm that the main inlet and outlet valves of the compressor are closed, valve PV0018A is fully open, the inlet vent valve is closed, and PV0018B is under manual control to regulate the pressure in tower T002. 3.2.14.2 Starting up ① Open the water supply valves at all cooling points except for the oil removal cooler, and also open the return valves for the cooling water. Check through the sight glasses to ensure that they are clean and unobstructed. ②Confirm that the oil pump’s main and auxiliary switches are in the on position, start the main oil pump, and adjust the supply pressure to around 0.30 MPa by slowly closing the relief valve. ③Low-pressure nitrogen protection is applied to maintain a pressure of 0.1 MPa behind the valve. ④Fully open the two-way valve of the compressor. ⑤For the pitching vehicle, check that there are no abnormal noises or looseness in the moving parts. ⑥Open the inlet to replace the air inside the machine, and close the inlet once it is done. ⑦Contact the dispatcher to prepare for startup. ⑧Stop the vehicle and start the motor. ⑨Raise the load handle from 0% to 100%. ⑩The two inlet main valves of the compressor were opened slowly without any abnormalities, with pressure equalization achieved through 1–2 adjustments; at this point, the control room promptly adjusted the opening degree of valve PC0018 to maintain stable pressure in tower T002. ⑪Gradually close the two-way one-way valve to raise the outlet pressure above that of the feed gas; during this process, the control room should ensure stable pressure in Tower T002. The control room contacted the site to control PV0018B to be fully closed by adjusting the opening degree of the compressor inlet valve, while PV0018A was kept at a certain opening degree to allow for adjustment. ⑫Slowly open the compressor outlet valve. ⑬During operation, adjust the cooling water flow rate of the process heat exchanger in a timely manner to bring the gas temperature to normal levels; when the temperature of the lubricating oil reaches 35°C, open the return water valve on the oil cooler and maintain this temperature. ⑭After it runs stably, observe for 5 minutes; only after no abnormalities are detected can you leave. Note: During operation, monitor the liquid levels in the primary and secondary outlet separators; drain any liquid that accumulates there promptly. Also pay attention to the nitrogen filling pressure for the packing – if it exceeds 0.35 MPa, inform the equipment technicians immediately and close the nitrogen filling valve to prevent process gas from entering the low-pressure nitrogen network. 3.2.14.3 Shutdown ① The control room contacts the dispatcher to prepare for shutdown. ②Open the compressor two-way one-way valve on site. ③Close the compressor inlet valve and the compressor outlet valve, and open the inlet vent valve to release pressure to atmospheric level. ④Set the load handle to 0 and press the stop button. ⑤Order placement vehicle. ⑥Stop the barring gear when the temperature of each bearing shell of the compressor is below 45°C. ⑦Open the drain valve of the receiver to discharge liquid; if the ambient temperature is low, close the doors and windows of the compressor room. 3.2.14.4 Emergency shutdown of the compressor (1) The emergency shutdown button shall be pressed promptly to bring the compressor to an emergency stop under the following conditions. ①The compressor’s cylinders are suffering from severe leakage of both liquid and air. ②The compressor or motor is making abnormal noises. ③The electricity meter reading suddenly increased. ④As the pressure increased, the safety valve opened suddenly. ⑤A fire broke out in the factory building. ⑥The fuel supply pressure suddenly drops to 0, or the main fuel pump shuts down while the auxiliary fuel pump does not start as a result of interlocking. ⑦The temperatures of the bearings on each axis reached the interlock shutdown value, but shutdown did not occur. (2) Emergency shutdown handling when the central control system detects an anomaly: ① Click the shutdown button to stop the main unit. ②Contact the site to open the secondary loop valve and start the turntable, while adjusting the pressure of Tower T002 in a timely manner. ③Contact the dispatcher to initiate an emergency shutdown of the compressor. ④Then stop the vehicle following the normal parking procedures. (3) Handling of abnormal emergency shutdown found on site: ① Press the emergency shutdown button on the control column. ②Contact the central control compressor to initiate an emergency shutdown. ③Open the two-way one valve and start the turning gear. ④Then stop the vehicle following the normal parking procedures. If the failure of the primary server does not affect the backup server, then start the backup server and identify the cause of the primary server’s malfunction; it can only be started once the issue is resolved.
As a supplementary point, the function of the recycle gas compressor is to compress the vapor that emerges from the medium-pressure flash tank to the system pressure and then feed it into the system; its main components include carbon dioxide, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, etc. The specific components have not been analyzed; this can be discussed further with everyone
