We have a heat exchanger with a surface area of 22 square meters. The inlet flow rate of the material is 2.5 T, the temperature at the inlet is 87 degrees, while the outlet temperature is 76 degrees. The inlet temperature of the circulating water is 30 degrees, and its outlet temperature is 34 degrees. Currently, the heat exchanger has half of it, with the head serving as the boundary line, that is very hot, while the other half is warm. I would like to know what the problem is Clogged? Also, we would like to keep the outlet temperature of the material at 40 degrees; is it possible to use this heat exchanger for that? How to calculate it?

Just change the layout and recalculate it according to your requirements; it won’t cost much

You need to clarify whether it is cooling water or the material being cooled in order to determine whether the temperature of the head is normal. At 40 degrees of cold, this cooler definitely won’t work; the heat load has increased by nearly three times, and the area required has grown significantly, so it’s necessary to design a new one.
