I’m not very familiar with the coking process; I would like to ask an expert whether hot water at 90°C is generated anywhere in the entire coking process, or if there is any stage that requires hot water at 90°C.
No, the water systems in coking plants are designed for cooling; they require cold water rather than hot water.
Waste heat recovery in coke ovens generates hot water at the economizer stage, which then produces steam! The gas preheater in the basement produces steam condensate, which is hot water, but it’s useless!
