Dear friends, how is the heat load of a heat transfer oil furnace calculated, and what is its relationship with its power?
I think you must want to choose a heat transfer oil furnace. Generally speaking, heat exchange in hot oil systems is of the direct-type design, with little capacity for heat storage (to help you understand this concept, I’ll use circulating cooling water as an example: cooling towers serve a cooling function, while water tanks have the capability to store heat). Therefore, the capacity of the hot oil furnace must meet the maximum thermal energy requirement of the process per unit time. This includes the number of heating devices required simultaneously, as well as the maximum amount of heat required per device per unit of time. By power you mention, you are probably referring to an electrically heated oil furnace, right? Or is it the conversion between heat and work?
Our company plans to install an electrically heated heat transfer oil furnace. The power of the equipment to be purchased is 175 KW. The project design team requires information regarding the heat load, and the furnace manufacturer says that the heat load is 175 KW – is that correct?
It must be the power of the heating furnace; note that the accompanying oil pump is not included.
We used 180kw, but it wasn’t used at full capacity in reality
