Why is a low-temperature interlock required for centrifugal submersible pumps? ? ? Seeking advice
It’s probably not the centrifugal submersible pump that’s to blame; rather, it’s your process that has caused the interlock to activate
There is indeed a low-temperature interlock in place. Why is an interlock needed? (Methanol is inside the tank.)
Low temperature is equivalent to a very low report; of course, operations are halted
Are you afraid it will get too cold and freeze them?
No, the methanol in the container is released from the system
The structural design and material selection of the pump, as well as the configuration of the mechanical seal, all have their applicable ranges; there are limits regarding minimum and maximum temperatures, and this is likely related to those factors.
