As the title suggests, in the hydrogen production section of an oil refining plant, are there any requirements regarding fire separation distances between the expansion tanks and the heat transfer oil furnaces?
First, the basic requirements for equipment layout planning: 1. When dealing with the foundation of the equipment, it is necessary to carry out foundation hardening in accordance with the manufacturer’s foundation design specifications, just as is required for other boiler equipment. Generally, a clear distance of 3–4 meters should be maintained in front of the furnace, 1–2 meters behind it, and 1–3 meters on either side; this ensures that there is sufficient space around the heat transfer oil furnace to facilitate its maintenance. 2. The distance between the oil storage tank (low-level oil tank) and the heat transfer oil furnace should be no less than 3 meters, and the tank should be located at the lowest point of the heating system, so as to allow the heat carrier in the system to flow back naturally. 3. The expansion tank (high-level oil tank) should be located at a height of 1.5~2 mm above the highest elevation of all the equipment and pipelines in the heat transfer oil furnace, and it must not be placed directly above the furnace body. 4. To facilitate equipment maintenance, at least 0.5m of space should be reserved around the circulating oil pump. 5. The electrical control cabinet should be installed in a bright, clean area free from heat radiation, at least 0.5 m away from the walls, to facilitate observation and maintenance by personnel such as the operator of the heat transfer oil furnace
