When a reciprocating compressor is on standby, do the manual valves for the packing nitrogen, the nitrogen seal recovery tank, and the air supply for the load regulator need to be closed?
The nitrogen for filling and the nitrogen seal recovery tank should not be closed, to prevent air leakage due to improper sealing of the inlet valve； The manual valve for the air supply to the load regulator can be closed, and adjustment is done after startup.
Well, it’s not necessary to turn off the air supply for the load regulator, but it is recommended to set the load to 100. This way, the spring inside the air valve won’t remain under constant compression, which helps extend the valve’s service life. I’m not sure if this is the right approach
