Excuse me, esteemed experts: why is the cetane number of coker diesel higher than that of catalytic diesel?
The cetane number is produced by the actual sample machine and is only related to the composition of diesel fuel. The linear alkanes are the highest and the condensed ring aromatics are the lowest. The fuel density is high and contains 50%-60% of total aromatics, so the cetane number is low.

This is mainly related to the chemical composition; generally, the order of cetane values is that n-alkanes > cycloalkanes > alkenes > aromatic hydrocarbons
