The intake and exhaust valves of the compressor were replaced, as well as 2/3 sets of packing rings; four sets of packing assemblies were also replaced. The company’s maintenance team said that the problem was caused by dirty materials, with liquefaction occurring in those materials. I want to know what kind of damage can occur when the material is dirty or contains liquids. It has been running for less than a month. (Not a professional)

The intake and exhaust valves are rusted, as are the packing rings; since the entire packing assembly is rusted, it must be replaced with a new one – it’s not possible to replace only the packing. Is it due to the material when this intake and exhaust valve/seal ring/seal assembly gets rusted?
The compressor must never be operated with liquid present, as this can cause damage to the cylinders and intake/exhaust valves; excessive dirt can lead to blockages.
Liquid in the medium can cause the compressor to hit its cylinders. If the gas valve is rusted, it is likely related to the medium being used. If it is confirmed that the medium contains liquid, a buffer tank can be installed before the inlet for separation; if the medium is too dirty, a filter can be added.
The material may contain mechanical impurities, which can cause wear of both the packing ring and the cylinder block, leading to equipment damage. It is recommended to install filters and demisters at the compressor inlet, and to regularly remove liquid and impurities.
