What is the purpose of doing this? ——I have seen this requirement many times, but I have never seen it actually implemented. I understand: the characteristic of a thermostatic trap is that it depends only on temperature, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s water or steam; this makes it impossible to prevent backflow ； In the case where steam from multiple traps is collected and discharged together, even if a particular heating steam supply line becomes blocked, local exchange of cold and hot water will still occur ahead of and behind that trap due to convection, as well as because of heat conduction in the heating pipelines ； In such cases, it can be determined by the temperature difference before and after this 1-meter-long straight pipe section. 2. Which has a faster response time, the thermodynamic type or the thermostatic type? Which one is generally chosen more often when considering price and maintenance? ——It depends on the requirements, but you need to truly understand the performance of various traps as well as what kind of heat tracing effect you need. 3. The workshop where I work has no fewer than 200 traps, of various types; with over 20 years of experience in this field, it’s impossible to explain them all in just a few words.
