The centrifugal compressors used in our equipment are those attached to the back-pressure steam turbines produced by Hangzhou Steam Engine Co. What measures can be taken to balance the thrust on the compressor bearings? There are balance pipes on the press; is there also a balance disk or balance drum at the final stage? The final stage of the compressor equipped with a balance tube has a sealing ring; is the tube that extends from the opening in the sealing ring to the inlet the balance tube? I hope fellow sailors can offer some guidance! !

Common methods for balancing axial forces in centrifugal compressors include opposed impeller arrangement and balance drums. The balance tube directs the excess air at the balance drum back to the inlet.
If it’s a balance drum, how is the pressure on the right side generated? Is there a hole in the balance drum?
It is the residual pressure remaining after equilibrium (the leakage amount from the radial gap of the balance drum).
Well, is this pressure lower than the outlet pressure and higher than the inlet pressure? Also, why is it necessary to measure the pressure difference between the primary seal gas for the dry gas seal and the balance tube? Theoretically, it’s to prevent the primary seal gas from flowing in reverse, but I don’t understand why. Please provide an explanation. Thank you
This post was last edited by libingtaoff8 on 2016-9-12 at 21:04. The pressure difference between the primary sealing gas and the balance pipe should be greater than 50 kPa when starting up; it is normally maintained at 200 kPa.
