Why does the reflux pump at the top of the distillation tower get emptied?
1) Insufficient load at the top of the distillation column. 2) The level of the reflux tank is too high, causing water to be carried back to the top. 3) Top circulation pipeline, clogging due to scale or sediment in the air-cooling unit or pump inlet filter. 4) Pump failure, instrument malfunction.
Insufficient plunger pressure, gas in the pump, pump problems, etc
Well, I really relate to the second point; I’ve encountered this issue quite often during operations – there’s something wrong with our level gauge
