First, open the inlet valve of the backup pump fully to fill the pump and remove any gas inside; it is important to ensure that all gas has been removed, as otherwise gas locking can occur. After that, start the pump and then open the outlet valve. Next, close the outlet valve of the main pump, shut down the pump, close the inlet valve, and drain any condensate. Air binding: When the pump is started, air is present inside it. As the pump begins to operate, this air accumulates at the center of the impeller, creating a vacuum with low pressure; as a result, the liquid cannot be drawn in nor discharged, and the pump vibrates and makes noise. Open the inlet of the standby pump and start it; once the pressure in the standby pump reaches the desired level, slowly open its outlet while simultaneously closing the outlet of the main pump, thereby completing the switchover
If the gas cannot be released, it will lead to gas entrapment; this is the reason for pump flooding. Cavitation occurs when the temperature of the medium is high, dude!
If the pump is not properly filled before starting the standby pump and the air is not completely removed, air locking will occur, which is different from cavitation.
One more thing: the hot oil pump needs to be preheated~~~. Before starting a standby pump, it is necessary to turn its shaft by hand and check the oil level~~~
