Jiangchengzi – Mid-Autumn Festival: Gazing out at the boundless autumn scenery, I smell the fragrance of beans and peas; sorghum is yellow. A single leaf signals the arrival of autumn. The gentle breeze stirs up waves of gold, startling the fish. Crabs are plump and yellow. The sky is high and the clouds are thin, yet longing for home lingers on. Thinking of my parents, who stand by the window, looking at each other as they grow old. Wishing for my son to travel far away, so that one day he can overcome all obstacles and return home to pay respects to his parents
A well-written poem, enhanced with personal longings for those far away and the hopes of one’s parents, would be perfect.
