Underground oil tank, single-layer tank, equipped with an anti-seepage pit; horizontal tank, with a diameter of 3.4 meters. The issues are as follows: 1. I am using a magnetostrictive level gauge; the client has suggested using an optical fiber level gauge, as the former worked well in previous instances. Those with experience, please share: secondary meters are required in all cases. 2. For the seepage prevention tank, a set of seepage detection equipment should be installed as per the process requirements; is it better to use a secondary meter or to connect it to the DCS? 3. What are the precautions? 4. If anyone has experience, please recommend a manufacturer.
1. Most of the underground tanks at gas stations use magnetostrictive level gauges. I’m not sure how well the optical fiber works ； 2. Leak detectors are generally complete sets of equipment, equipped with their own secondary meters. The output of the secondary instrument is sent to the DCS.
It should be fine to use a magnetostrictive level gauge or an optical fiber level gauge for the finished oil tanks. It would be great if the leak detector could be connected to the DCS, so that leaks can be monitored in real time.
