The factory is equipped with a Class III electronic truck scale with a capacity of 0–100 tons, featuring digital sensors. It is used for weighing trucks whenever goods are delivered or received in trade, and it is always used while the truck remains stationary on the scale. Recently, when I inquired about the fees for the calibration of vehicle scales, I found that these fees apply to two types of scales. The details are as follows: Serial number, name of the measuring instrument, accuracy level and grade, measurement range, unit of charge, fee amount (in yuan), frequency of inspection, and any relevant notes. For professional L-149 electronic vehicle scales (fixed-type electronic scales) of grade III with a capacity of ≤20 tons, the fee is 1,000 yuan per scale; for scales with a capacity of over 20 tons, an additional 50 yuan is charged per ton. For L-155 dynamic vehicle scales with a capacity of ≤20 tons, the fee is 6,000 yuan per year; for those with a capacity of over 20 tons, the fee is 7,500 yuan per year. In my opinion, my scale should be considered a fixed-type scale, but the metrology authority charged me as if it were a dynamic scale, and the fee was 10,000 yuan. The standard indicated on the certificate is JJG 539-1997, and the range is specified as 0~30t. I don’t know how to define fixed and dynamic. What are the **standards related to the calibration of truck scales?** There’s another issue: over the past two months, every time the goods are weighed upon delivery, the weight of the loaded vehicle (40–50 tons) is always 100 kg less than the weight indicated at the factory (fuel consumption has already been taken into account). With an unloaded vehicle, there is basically no discrepancy (within 20 tons). When the metrology bureau comes, they use 10-ton weights for calibration. The people from the metrology bureau said that all units in the park do this, and if heavier weights are needed, an additional fee is charged based on the weight in tons. If it’s a testing method like this, the readings are likely to be inaccurate.
