Hello everyone: What do primary stress, secondary stress, and peak stress mean in simple terms? What’s written in the book is too abstract; thank you all
Primary stress is caused by internal factors or external loads; it can exist independently, has a wide range, and is not self-limiting. Secondary stress, as the name implies, is secondary in nature – it arises as a complement and to coordinate with primary stress; it is localized and self-limiting. Peak stress refers to local stress concentrations or thermal stress, and it has a significant impact on fatigue
:I’m ashamed; after working in design for many years, I still haven’t fully understood these things. I just use formulas to do calculations, and more often I rely on software to handle them, without even understanding the formulas themselves. These are suitable for those who work in theory to study; we adopt them as they are
