How to install temperature sensors on oil pipes with small diameters? For example, on a DN32 pipe, is it okay not to install an expansion tube?
DN32 is too small; if an expansion tube is not used, a temperature sensor of a smaller size will have to be custom-made.
If the temperature requirements are not high, could we consider using a tiny temperature sensing element such as a thermistor?
Previously, a type of temperature sensing element that adhered to the pipe wall was used on the large pipes at the compressor outlet (without the need to be inserted into the pipes); if it was not used for control purposes but only for display and alarm functions, this temperature measurement method could be employed.

If there is truly no space available, a surface temperature sensor can be used; these are commonly welded to the pipeline or attached in some other way. The advantage is that no opening needs to be made, while the disadvantage is that the temperature measured will be slightly different from that inside the pipe.
