Viscosity is an important control parameter in resin production. At present, the level of automation in the resin manufacturing process in China is generally low, remaining at the stage of offline analysis, manual adjustment, and experience-based control. This results in low production efficiency, high resource consumption, and unstable product quality, thereby hindering the development of the resin industry. Online monitoring technology enables the resin viscosity to be displayed in real time on the DCS, just like temperature and pressure. To improve the reaction efficiency in reactors, almost all of them are equipped with stirring devices. The power required for stirring is related to parameters such as the viscosity of the material, temperature, density, liquid level in the tank, and stirring speed. Therefore, by measuring parameters such as the mixing power and torque of the reactor, as well as the polymerization temperature, the resin viscosity is calculated using a model. Once this system is in operation, on-site staff can read the viscosity value of the material in the reactor in real time online, and make adjustments accordingly based on the process requirements.
