Issues regarding the issuance of power outage permits for equipment maintenance

I think the same way, but the documents issued by the company are handled by the maintenance staff; in other words, the person responsible for the power outage is also the person in charge of equipment maintenance, as the power outage is carried out for the purpose of maintenance.

This explanation is incorrect. Generally speaking, the purpose of work orders is to prevent risks; maintenance personnel usually know the site and the machinery well, but they don’t have much knowledge of electrical operations. Power must be cut off during maintenance work. From an electrical perspective, this task of turning power on and off is a single-type operation, and they must carry out it in accordance with the relevant procedures; this gives rise to the workers involved in this task as well as the persons responsible for it.

Previously, electrical work and maintenance in the unit were both carried out in the same maintenance workshop; the electrical maintenance team responsible for the equipment was asked to handle the necessary procedures, including shutting down power supply, and sometimes it was also necessary to disconnect wires. Shift 1 of the process department is not involved in this, but different companies have different requirements; currently, the department in charge of the process is responsible for arranging for the power to be cut off and for handling the necessary paperwork.

In our unit, regardless of the voltage level, whenever there is a power outage or interruption, it is the electrical department that is responsible. But the process team is responsible for making the contacts; there’s no need for mechanical repairs

For those who do not have the qualifications to operate electrical systems, switching operations are carried out by electrical operators through power-on and power-off work orders

If the person in charge of the work is a maintenance technician or a process engineer who does not have the qualifications to operate in electrical systems, the power-on and power-off operations must be carried out by an electrical operation supervisor through a power-on/power-off request form.
