For new compressors, is it necessary to conduct a kerosene leakage test on the air valves during installation? Why use kerosene? Won’t this affect normal production later on?

Generally, compressor manufacturers conduct leakage tests on the air valves at the time of production, also using kerosene; after the test, it is sufficient to wipe it clean. Do not use water; carbon steel gas valves may rust. If possible during installation, a kerosene leakage test can also be conducted.
The same goes for water; leaks are detected by letting water flow through. However, kerosene has excellent permeability, so leaks can be seen right away.
The key is its strong penetration, followed by the ease of drying it after testing. The rusting problem occurs just like with kerosene – it can cause rusting as well
