I would like to ask everyone: in compound fertilizers, does the ratio 20:20:20 refer to the ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus pentoxide, and potassium oxide? Is it a quality ratio? I read in a book on flowers that, during the flowering period, it is necessary to use a compound fertilizer with a nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium ratio of 1:0.7:2. Is this ratio based on mass, or on the elements themselves? Or is it, as I mentioned earlier, a ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus pentoxide, and potassium oxide? If it is the latter, why not simply expand it to an integer and write it as 10:7:20? I really don’t understand! Also, can one prepare compound fertilizers on their own? The ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus to potassium is 1:0.7:2. It is usually expressed as 1 to some value; writing it as 10:7:20 is also possible, but this approach is less intuitive when comparing different crops (personal opinion)
