For the PE unit, the heat exchange efficiency of the granule water heat exchanger in the facility has decreased significantly recently; it was just shut down for cleaning for half a month. It is suspected that scaling on the circulating water side is the cause; the particle water temperature is set at 76°C. How often is the particle water heat exchanger in everyone’s unit cleaned? Is scaling severe on the circulating water side?
It shouldn’t form scale after just half a month of cleaning, right? Is it a plate heat exchanger? Could it be that it was installed incorrectly after cleaning?
It was just repaired; it’s probably caused by dirt in the circulating water plant. The water side of the particles is desalinated water; it is mainly used to check the granulation process and to determine whether there is a large amount of fine powder in the particle tank. At the same time, there are usually two plate exchangers, so you can switch between them and give it a try. The other one is being cleaned by backwashing.
The granule water tank does indeed contain a large amount of fine powder, and I don’t know how to deal with it. The granular water heat exchanger definitely needs to be shut down for cleaning
Is it caused by blockage on the circulating water side or by excessive fragmentation on the particle water side? Also, what form is the heat exchanger in?
Don’t you have a filter for your granulation water? This one preferably requires level 2 filtration. The return water should be filtered once before entering the water tank; in other words, the granulation water tank must be equipped with a filtering device. Additionally, a basket filter should be installed before the circulation pump, so that no powder layer forms on the heat exchanger, thereby extending its cleaning interval. Cleaning the filter is much easier than cleaning the plate heat exchanger.
Many extruder granulation systems actually only have the filter plate built into the water tank, without any basket filters
Add an overflow device to the granulation water tank; this will allow any floating debris on the surface to be drained away. The heat exchange efficiency is poor; it’s probably on the particle water side.
