The power rating of three-phase asynchronous motors is not limited. I hope fellow enthusiasts can help answer the following questions: 1: After lubricating the motor, oil leaks from the bearing end caps, being flung out due to the high-speed rotation. Is there an oil seal at the junction between the bearing end caps and the shaft? What is the typical material used for such oil seals? 2: For motors with a capacity of several dozen to several hundred kilowatts, the nameplate does not specify the amount of oil to be used nor the type of lubricant. Those with experience might be able to recommend one or two types of lubricants, or suggest relevant books. 3: Could you also recommend some books on motor repair and maintenance!

1. Oil leakage occurring after lubricating the motor’s bearings is caused by using too much oil. Some motors have oil seals on the bearing assemblies and the shafts, while others do not. Nowadays, when replacing motor bearings, both sides of the bearings are equipped with seals; as for the material of these seals, it’s not clear – it might be cast iron. 2.
