What is the general required turbidity level for long-term operation of inclined plate sedimentation tanks for river water? 700 m3/h, sedimentation tank surface area 90 m2.

The inclined plate sedimentation tank is equipped with multiple 60-degree inclined plates; the suspended solids, solid particles in the influent water, or the flocs formed during pre-treatment settle to the bottom funnel due to gravity. The treated liquid becomes clearer, with most of the suspended particles removed; the turbidity level generally meets industry standards. We can also use a turbidity meter to test some water samples to see if they meet the standards. The turbidity of the water exiting the sedimentation tank should be kept below 10 NTU; more conservatively, it should be controlled at ≤5 NTU.
