In our university’s School of Chemical Engineering, the courses related to chemical engineering and technology as well as pharmaceutical engineering are often taught together; therefore, it is possible to hold exchanges in the process-related area, as there are commonalities between these fields. Actually, I think that aside from the pharmaceutical field, there is another area that could be explored, namely food engineering, which is quite similar to chemical engineering.
Some small techniques are still different, such as freeze-drying and the like. Although drying is also discussed in the chemical industry, the method of drying used in pharmaceuticals differs from ours.
The preliminary ideas are as follows: 1. New section names to be added in the process area: Pharmaceutical Design and Pharmaceutical Engineering sections. 2. Topics for discussion: This section is primarily used to discuss various active pharmaceutical ingredients, formulations, biological products, as well as equipment and engineering and production technologies related to traditional Chinese and Western medicines； Pharmaceutical plant process design and unit design ； Pharmaceutical equipment technology and applications ； Developments in infrastructure, innovation, renovation, and growth within the domestic and international pharmaceutical industry.
