Is it necessary to install a filter before the pipeline flame arrester?
It depends on the gas; if the gas itself contains coarse particles, industrial filters can be somewhat effective, but the effect will not be very significant. Using bag filters results in a relatively high pressure drop, and the system itself may not allow this. For dirty and viscous media, a water-sealed flame arrester can be chosen.

Pipeline flame arresters have relatively high resistance; a liquid removal tank is usually installed in front of them, and there is no need to add a filter before the pipeline flame arrester.
Generally, there is no filter. However, similar to filters, flame arresters are equipped with pressure gauges at both the front and back; when the pressure difference becomes large, it is necessary to remove and clean them.

The flame arrester in the fuel gas line is generally not used; there is a liquid separation tank for buffering, so there are no major issues~~~
The air intake system usually consists of one active unit and one backup unit; if there is a concern about high pressure drops or clogging of the flame arrester, a pressure difference gauge should be installed for regular cleaning. If the combustible gas itself is not very dirty, the flame arrester still needs to be cleaned regularly. Corrosion of the pipe walls and valves can generate small particles; these particles travel with the gas to the flame arrester core, where they adhere to the walls due to factors such as static electricity, which in turn leads to an increase in pressure drop. So there isn’t a very good solution. For safety, regular maintenance is the best solution.
