There are many types of natural gas transmission pipelines in urban areas; some operate at pressures below 1.6 MPa, while others operate at pressures above 1.6 MPa. According to the design standards for urban gas systems, the pressure in gas pipelines in Zone 4 should not exceed 4.0 MPa. In the case of gate stations and gas storage stations, such as those connected to the main pipelines transporting gas from the west to the east, the pressure is even higher – values exceeding 8 MPa are not uncommon. Large cities typically have numerous gate stations and gas storage stations, resulting in quite complex pipeline systems. .
