By this point, the adjustment period had passed; they weren’t averse to the fact that I was from the Northeast, and they thought I wouldn’t get involved in the criminal world or anything like that, so I was considered a decent person to be friends with. As for the salary, they can’t do anything about it either; and under the instructions of the project manager, they decided to teach me how to read blueprints. They are also workers from the workshop who know how to assemble things. Well then, in that case, for a prefabricated structure, just take a stack of drawings and look them up. Once they got there, they exchanged a few words and then went about their own business. To be honest, I don’t understand it; it’s a silly approach, starting from the edges to figure out the structure. I just couldn’t find the 4 outermost reinforcement plates, so I had to ask a colleague. When my colleague checked it, they were also confused – the structure had already been completed and the inspection had passed; so how could there be something missing? Well, I called the foreman of the subcontractor, and the foreman said he hadn’t given me any materials; all the materials that were given to me had already been loaded. What to do? Go see the project manager. The project manager smiled, first asking who had discovered it, and then began to explain. The segments are meant to be welded together in the future; each segment has its own construction tolerances, and the adjoining segments also have their own tolerances. Once all the reinforcement structures are installed, the two segments are brought together – but what to do if they don’t fit together at certain points? Do I still need to cut off the reinforcement plate? If it’s not cut, can the streamlined shape of the hull be maintained? So, the structure near this joint was installed when it was closed; there’s no need to make a big deal out of it. After saying all this, I’m not really an expert in chemical engineering; I just wonder if this kind of issue also occurs when installing containers, towers, and similar structures.
I can’t understand it; it seems very complex.

This is very common in structural components. Many segments still need to be disassembled for transportation and then reassembled. So the positioning pins and other components on the two connecting flanges at the mating surface are all prepared and installed as parts, and they remain in place until assembly and welding are completed, without being removed.
