At around 10 a.m. on November 3, a fire broke out at the factory of Binxing Yamei Technology Co., Ltd. in Binzhou City, and thick smoke could be seen rising from the site of the fire from outside the factory. The fire department said that two teams were fighting the fire at the scene.
Shandong Yamei Technology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise under Bohai Industry, specialized in the production of recycled cellulose fibers. The company is located in the Boxing County Industrial Park, within the Bohai Bay Blue Economy Zone. Covering an area of 63 hectares, it benefits from the abundant water resources of the Yellow River, and is committed to becoming a manufacturing base for regenerated cellulose fibers in the efficient ecological economic zone of the Yellow River Delta. The company has a production capacity of 260,000 tons per year of differentiated viscose staple fibers, 50,000 tons per year of high-quality cotton pulp, 168,000 tons per year of sodium sulfate, and 20,000 tons per year of 70% sodium hydrosulfide. It is one of the largest and most diversified renewable cellulose production bases in the country; its capacity for differentiated viscose staple fibers ranks among the top four in the nation, accounting for 10% of the total national capacity.
