The key source materials in LEDs are highly pure metal organic sources, such as trimethylgallium (TMGa) and trimethylindium (TMIn). The notable characteristics of such chemicals are: 1) High purity, with a purity level of not less than 99.9999% ; 2) Category 4.2 chemicals: burn violently in air, react violently with water, and undergo explosive decomposition. 3) The production environment is demanding, typically a class 1000 clean room. 4) Quality analysis is difficult, and no industry standards have been established yet. 5) The products are measured in grams or kilograms, and their prices are high. With the rapid development of optoelectronic materials, some domestic enterprises have begun to shift from producing such specialty chemicals in kilogram quantities to larger scales of tons. Moreover, the production equipment and processes are mostly in the experimental stage.
