We have them both on horizontal pipes and on vertical pipes. Those that come out from underground are more on horizontal pipes, while those that come down from above are more on vertical pipes.
The valves of the above-ground transfer tanks are generally installed horizontally to facilitate maintenance.
Most are installed vertically; horizontal installation is usually done when there is no space for vertical installation, or for the convenience of operation and maintenance.
Here, whether from the top or from the bottom, it’s basically installed in a horizontal section, and no problems have been detected so far!

For equipment where the outlet is located close to the pump, the valve is usually connected directly to the equipment’s interface, with no additional valve needed at the pump inlet. Valves in piping are indeed mostly installed horizontally; vertical installation is only considered when there is really no space.

Regarding whether the valve should be installed vertically or horizontally, it is necessary to take into account factors such as ease of maintenance and operation; the impact should be minimal. As for whether the reducer at the inlet pipeline should be designed with a flat top or a flat bottom, it depends on the pumped medium; if the solid content is high, a flat-bottom design is generally used, while otherwise a flat-top design is adopted.
