Regarding pump purging

During system purging, is it done by removing the filter at the pump inlet and the check valve at the outlet for purging, but what about the parts of the pump that are not subjected to purging? How should those be dealt with?

The system purging does not pass through the pump; there is a connection line in front of the pump’s inlet valve and behind its outlet valve – that is a dedicated purging line. The pump section needs to be handled separately. High-temperature pumps can be purged solely with steam. Steam is not allowed to enter pumps that are not at high temperatures. Design agencies typically provide corresponding purging or replacement methods, such as nitrogen purging or water washing; if no such measures are in place, replacement is generally not necessary.
Remove the pump inlet and outlet flanges, as well as the filters and check valves, and install blind flanges at the pump’s inlet and outlet to prevent debris from being blown into the pump. In particular, it is important to prevent debris from reaching the seals, as this could damage them once the pump starts operating
Pumps generally do not require purging; proper isolation should be ensured during construction, and under normal circumstances the conditions inside the pump can be maintained
System purging generally involves treating the pipelines; for steam purging, it is necessary to isolate equipment such as pumps, by using things like blind flanges. Equipment such as pumps does not require any special treatment; it is relatively clean when it leaves the factory. As for the short pipes at the inlet and outlet, filters can be installed during the first water testing of the equipment. In any case, all filters need to be cleaned or replaced during the first feeding process.
