I would like to ask everyone how to handle urgently a leak in the medium-pressure steam tube bank in the catalytic unit’s superheater, as there is no bypass line for the medium-pressure steam pipeline
If the leakage is severe, the feed must be cut off to stop the leak; a shut-off valve should be installed here.
If the leakage is minor, attempting to seal it under pressure can be tried; if the leakage is severe, the feed flow needs to be stopped for treatment
How can this area be sealed under pressure?
Overheated steam usually occurs in the residual boiler; if there is a leak in the tube bundle, the residual boiler must be removed and the steam discharged before any treatment can be carried out. I’m not sure if it’s correct.
The only solution is to shut down the boiler, turn off the flame and divert the flue gas, open the boiler body, relieve pressure from the tube bank, and then seal the leak.
