Dear sea friends: Our company’s engineering specification regarding pressure gauges states that “the sensing element of pressure and differential instruments shall generally be a Bourdon, diaphragm, or bellows.” What type of pressure sensing element is a “Bourdon”?
It is the pressure sensing element of a regular pressure gauge.
Bourdon, previously translated as Bourdon tube, refers to a spring-loaded tube with an elliptical/oval cross-section.
It’s the transliteration of Borden; answer 3# is correct!
