Dear technical experts: With the Yokogawa CS3000, when using the communication card ALR121 to communicate with field instruments, an MTL838 is used for communication with those instruments. There are 16 thermocouples installed on site, and last night their temperatures fluctuated suddenly; the readings dropped to zero for a brief moment before returning to normal. What could be the cause of this, and how can it be resolved?
Our unit has encountered a similar problem, where all 121 communication cards on one control line failed simultaneously. But it did not recover on its own.
Oh, then how do you handle it? I just want to find out the reason so as to prevent such things from happening again, because fluctuations in all 16 parameters at the same time have a significant impact on the manufacturing process! Thank you!
Both ALR121 and MTL838 need to be checked, such as whether the power supply is stable, whether the connections are secure, and whether the wiring is proper. After checking, if a similar situation occurs again, the only option is to replace it to resolve the issue.

In our case, all the ALR121 units at that control station are unusable; their status lights do not light up, and the status indicators on the cards in the system show a red \"X\". The number “2” appears in the upper right corner. It indicates a BUS2 fault; reseating the second CPU restored normal operation, but the root cause of the problem remains unclear.
