How does the isobutylene content in the feedstock for sulfate-based alkylation in a stepped reactor affect the dry point of the resulting octane? Does a higher isobutylene content also mean a higher dry point?
Due to the high reactivity of isobutylene, using feedstock with a high isobutylene content directly, in the absence of vigorous stirring, low reaction temperatures, and a high alkene-to-olefin ratio, side reactions can occur that result in the formation of high-boiling compounds, affecting the dry point of the oil product.
