I would like to ask those who are experienced in this field: has anyone worked with the production of dibutyl phthalate DBP? How is the washing process for DBP carried out? Since DBP is denser than water, wouldn’t it settle at the bottom during liquid separation? I hope those who are familiar with this topic can provide some guidance

Is there a good separation method in the absence of alcohols?
It is difficult to separate layers in the absence of alcohol; water should be on the upper layer, which makes the process rather tricky. The specific gravity of DBP is around 1.044, making it difficult to separate from water, which has a specific gravity of 1.0.
Is it possible to wash with saltwater?
Washing with water is not allowed, as it will introduce sodium ions. It is possible to do so during neutralization, but it is not recommended as it can affect the quality; it may even impact the quality of plastic products.
