Are there baffles in the shell side of the block-hole graphite heat exchanger and absorber? None of the ones I’ve disassembled had baffle plates, but how does the circulating water in the shell side flow? Will it deviate and take shortcuts?

There must be baffles, and they are generally arranged according to the number of heat exchange modules inside. Isn’t it about achieving high output with low input? It’s fine for vertical heat exchangers to not have baffle plates
Yes, it’s a case of low inlet and high outlet, but the distance between the graphite block and the shell (about 45 mm) is much larger than the diameter of the water channels within the graphite block itself (15 mm); as a result, the water takes a detour and finds an easier path. Questions from my colleagues who didn’t go to school for me.
I asked the relevant manufacturers; some have baffle plates while others don’t. But in the case where there are no baffle plates, what is the flow pattern of the circulating water, and could there be any deviation in the flow direction?
